Hastings Police receives grant for alcohol enforcement

The Hastings Police Department has been awarded $11,000 by the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety to participate in the You Drink & Drive, You Lose enforcement. The You Drink & Drive, You Lose is a national selective enforcement operation to focus on impaired drivers throughout the United States.The enforcement period runs from August 17 through September 3, 2012. The goal of HPD is not to arrest impaired drivers, but to deter intoxicated people from driving a motor vehicle, not only during the enforcement period, but year round.
